The Killers apparently do a lot for their fans. In London, the US rockers even paused their concert for England’s European Championship match.

European Championship fever is also spreading beyond Europe. The US rockers The Killers briefly interrupted their concert at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday evening (10 July) so that fans could enjoy the end of the exciting semi-final of England against the Netherlands.

Confetti and “Sweet Caroline” for the fans

The short break was definitely worth it. In the 91st minute, Ollie Watkins (28) scored the winning goal for England, securing their place in the final with a 2:1 win. The American musicians Brandon Flowers (43), Dave Keuning (48), Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (48) and Mark Stoermer (47), who are currently on their “Rebel Diamonds” tour, played the Neil Diamond song “Sweet Caroline” to celebrate, fired the confetti cannons to mark the goal and celebrated with their fans, who sang along loudly, applauded and cheered – a goosebumps moment!

The Killers: “Today we played for England”

A DailyMail reporter reports of the spectacle – including video material. But also The Killers, who are best known for their mega hit “Mr. Brightside”, shared on Instagram some photos from their special concert performance. “Tonight we played for England,” they wrote.

The English will play against the Spanish for the European Championship title next Sunday, July 14, at 9 p.m.
