For great gaming pleasure: Asus and Acer are introducing new OLED displays at CES 2022

Asus and Acer presented new OLED displays at CES 2022, which should be aimed particularly at gaming fans. However, those interested have to dig deep into their pockets for both models.

Not every large television set meets the highest video game standards. And not every good gaming screen is big enough. This year, at the technology fair CES, there are three displays to be seen, among other things, which bring fast images into larger format. The OLED technology used with self-illuminating diodes offers particularly high contrasts and very dark blacks.

With the PG42UQ, the Asus brand ROG is showing an OLED display with a 42-inch diagonal. The 4K display (3840 to 2160 pixels) has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1, 0.1 millisecond response time at a maximum of 120 Hertz (Hz) refresh rate and 10-bit color space. There are two HDMI 2.1, two HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort and a USB hub for connecting consoles, PCs and the like. There is already a 48-inch version for even more space. Asus has not yet announced the availability and price.

Acer’s Predator CG48 also manages a maximum refresh rate of 138 Hz at 4K resolution. The 48-inch display with a contrast ratio of 1,350,000: 1 and a response time of 0.1 milliseconds features AMD Freesync technology. This is intended to ensure synchronized scrolling on the graphics card and screen. The screen is equally suitable for PC and console. Various devices can be connected via HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, but also via USB-C and notebooks can be supplied with up to 65 watts of power.

However, you also need the necessary budget: The CG48 should go on sale from autumn for just under 2200 euros.
