For its 100th birthday – Haus der Natur celebrates with a new reptile zoo

For Salzburg’s museum lovers, the year 2024 will be a year to celebrate. Numerous museums in the state capital are celebrating an anniversary, often accompanied by special events.

The House of Nature, for example, is celebrating its hundredth anniversary. It’s not just for this occasion that the exhibition center in the old town is getting a converted, completely redesigned reptile zoo. Instead of small individual terrariums, in the future several species that get along well will live together in larger habitat terrariums. In addition to the House of Nature, other houses are celebrating an anniversary. This is how the cathedral museum turns 50 years old. The house with art treasures from Salzburg’s cathedral and churches has been part of the cathedral district for several years. The Museum der Moderne is celebrating its 40th, the location on Mönchsberg is turning 20 this year. To celebrate the anniversary, children and young people up to 19 have free entry all year round.
