The Secretary of State in charge of the Social and Solidarity Economy and Associative Life returned, Tuesday, July 5 on France 2, to her appointment, the subjects she wishes to defend, but also the political recomposition of the National Assembly .
Marlène Schiappa explained on France 2 that she “was[t] working to create a company with missions in the field of gender equality” when the President, the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior called him to be part of the new government: “It was a surprise because I was working on other projects. After five years, I was already honored to have been in all the governments of the five-year term. »
She added that she “said yes because we are in a context of feminization of political power; you know my commitment to these issues” and that “being in the government of the first female Prime Minister since Edith Cresson, of the President of the National Assembly and of the majority group” is a source of pride. The minister also said that the government has entrusted her with subjects that “excite her” and that “it is an ecosystem that[elle] adore. “Impossible therefore, for her, to refuse:” There was a little hesitation – two minutes and a half with my husband -, and I put aside my projects. The political situation we are experiencing is very special and I wanted to serve my country. »
On her ministry, Marlène Schiappa announced that she is “in the process of building the roadmap with the Prime Minister. The social and solidarity economy and community life were previously two different ministries that the President and the Prime Minister have grouped together. She continued, “It represents all the people who think that profit is not an end in itself, so we have to have a commitment from the companies. There is a movement of companies to engage in this sector of the economy. This is also what brings together the raison d’être, it is the culmination of the Pacte law passed during the first five-year term. There are also issues of corporate democracy. »

As for the reshuffle, much criticized by the opposition, the minister defended it: “There are around forty ministers with new faces.
