A few meters from the famous neighborhood where Oprah Winfrey, the couple Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, and Ellen DeGeneres also live, is the huge Andree Clark Bird Sanctuary. Right in the middle of the field rests a salt water marsh almost 170m2 long. But, problem, the water would stagnate inside and release a particularly unpleasant odor : “It smells of offal that has rotted in the sun. It turns my stomach. I saw a lot of owners closing their windows”said the resident who wished to remain anonymous.

Although improvements are underway to make wash away this stench, the inconvenience could last for many more weeks. Unfortunately for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, these odor problems are not from yesterday. Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex already faced a similar mishap with a legal cannabis factory, located in Santa Barbara. A series of complaints were then filed by other nearby residents, according to the DailyMail. This then forced the company to install new “odor control systems”.
