For now, the €30,000 Pear isn’t as radical as Fisker promised

Fisker’s second model is making its first laps. We can get a first opinion on the lines of this model, even if it is still camouflaged. The vehicle is advertised at a price of €30,000.

Fisker does not seem to waste time on its development strategy. While the first Fisker Ocean have just come off the assembly line at the Austrian factory in Graz, Fisker has started showing, since December 6, 2022, a rolling prototype of its second model: Fisker PEAR. However, we still do not know if Pear will be his final name. It is in any case the acronym of “Personal Electric Automotive Revolution”, a model which must arrive in 2024 on the roads.

During our interview with Henrik Fisker, the boss of Fisker, during the Mondial de Paris, he told us that the design of this new model would be atypical. If we rely on the first photos and videos released, the model does not seem that unexpected.

The Fisker Pear has some somewhat atypical proportions, admittedly

Let’s go back to what the manager told us in an interview: ” The Pear will have a radical design, really very radical “. Before adding: “It will probably take some getting used to with this vehicle. At first you’ll be like, ‘oh, that’s really weird’, but in a good way. There are vehicles that are weird and stay that way, because you don’t really like them. There, with Pear, after the surprise, you should tell yourself that it’s actually pretty cool. »

The Pear, strange in some of its proportions? We will certainly agree with Henrik Fisker. A high bonnet, particularly large glass surfaces, imposing 22-inch rims and a right-angled rear making the tailgate disappear: the model is difficult to classify in a predefined box. After the first surprise, this electric novelty seems rather nice, especially for its occupants who must take advantage of a lot of light.

What Fisker describes as an urban model is still 4.55 m long. He had warned us that he would not attack the segment of city cars and other urban SUVs so widespread in Europe. The Pear should be the smallest model in the Fisker line.

Fisker still maintains a price under €30,000

If the design is probably not going to delight everyone, the price could make a lot of people agree. Fisker told us at the Paris Motor Show and reconfirmed it to Auto Bild media on December 6, the price target is still €30,000. It is still hard to believe, with price inflation visible among all manufacturers, apart from Chinese manufacturers. But, if Fisker manages to deliver on its promise of an original and affordable electric vehicle, so much the better.

According to the German media, two batteries should be available on this model. A small battery for targeted urban use, as well as a larger battery to successfully reach 500 km of autonomy. The small battery should make it possible to display the advertised price with a more minimalist configuration. However, we will have to wait to learn more about the characteristics of this model, whose reservations are already open, for a payment of 250 €.
