For PS4 & PS5: God of War Ragnarok takes important step in the right direction


In the fall of last year, the first gameplay for God of War Ragnarök was shown, now developer Santa Monica Studios has revealed some more information about the upcoming action hit for PS4 & PS5, setting an important example for the entire gaming industry.

God of War Ragnarok gets tons of accessibility options

With the new edition of God of War, Sony landed a real hit in 2018, which is still at the top of the PlayStation Store bestseller list. The sequel, God of War Ragnarök, is due out later this year for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Now Santa Monica Studios, who are working on the development of the sequel, have published a blog post on the official PlayStation website that contains some interesting information about the upcoming action hit. This is how God of War Ragnarok is supposed to be 60+ accessibility options offer that allow players to tailor the gameplay to their individual needs – and with this the developers are taking an important step in the right direction.

Functions that were developed for the PC version of God of War should also be found in God of War Ragnarök, such as an automatic sprint or a permanently displayed crosshair that should help reduce motion sickness. In addition, many gameplay features, such as blocking or targeting, allow players to choose whether to press the button once or hold it down to activate it.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Additional navigation and movement aids, a high-contrast mode that clearly highlights characters in color, and visual audio cues are also among the accessibility options.

The size of subtitles and their color should also be freely adjustable. Players can also darken or blur the text background for better readability (source: PlayStation Blog).
