This discounted TV is a 2023 QLED model from The Frame range. It has a diagonal of 55 inches, or 139 cm. A large television therefore, not always easy to fit in the living room. However, Samsung’s The Frame range has the distinction of being designed as a trompe-l’oeil. The sleek design, with a frame around the screen, gives it the look of a painting. The effect is successful and art lovers will be delighted, just like people who don’t like traditional screens.
But The Frame doesn’t just look like a painting for the sake of style. Samsung’s TV can, indeed, display a work of art. The frame transforms into a canvas when turned off to display numerous works of art from many museums and galleries. The tile, featuring a matte coating, is ideal for displaying paintings. Unfortunately, even if some works are available for free, others are not (most of them). You will have to checkout on the Art Store, for a monthly subscription at the price of €4.99 per month, to enjoy thousands of paintings and photographs.
Is The Frame on sale a good deal?
At less than €1,000 it’s a very good deal for the newest model in the range. Samsung’s TV is HDMI 2.1 compatible and supports 4K with a variable 100/120Hz refresh rate, ideal for next-gen console gaming. Its QLED panel offers realistic image quality, thanks to 4K Ultra HD. It is HDR10+ compatible, but Samsung is allergic to Dolby Vision, and still does not offer it in this 2023 version. The Upscaling technology present optimizes content in 1080p with 4K definition. Some problems with contrasts and blacks on certain content are frequent, but nothing that cannot be corrected via the settings menu. The audio part is not the strong point of The Frame. An optical digital audio output allows you to connect a better sound system, to overcome the weaknesses of the speakers. Finally, Samsung’s Tizen operating system accompanies The Frame. It is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, so you can control it with your voice. The menu is fluid and the navigation rather instinctive. Classic SVOD applications and services are present.
