For their big comeback, the Eurockéennes 2022 offer themselves Muse and Stromae


Rock, rap, electro, metal… After a cancellation in 2020 and a minimalist edition in 2021 due to Covid-19, the Belfort Festival announces the rich program of its 32and edition, from June 30 to July 3.

After two editions weighed down by the Covid crisis, the Eurockéennes de Belfort are making their big comeback in 2022: for its 32and edition, the festival offers its biggest budget to date and big headliners from Muse to Stromae, via Bob Sinclar or Nick Cave.

“Music is life, music comes back, life comes back!”launched during the presentation of the program Thursday in Belfort Matthieu Pigasse, the president of the festival scheduled from June 30 to July 3, and which attracted up to 135,000 spectators in 2018, a record year.

A refreshed program

With 9.7 million euros, this edition will be marked by “the biggest budget that the Eurockéennes have been able to set up”insisted Jean-Paul Roland, the director of the festival, crowned in March 2020 “best festival” in the world at the Arthur Awards.

After an edition canceled in 2020, then replaced last year by a reduced format called “Second home”Matthieu Pigasse insisted on the “happiness to meet again today (…) The last edition was 2019, it was the old world…”

On the menu of theseeurocks“ finally returned to themselves, a largely refreshed program, with 54 artists, including 45 who have never played there.

Undisputed headliner: the British group Muse, already scheduled for 2021 and which will be present this year on the Franche-Comté scene. It is “a very big headliner, we didn’t think we could welcome them to the Eurocks, but we still manage“, welcomed Kem Lalot, the programmer. Muse is “one of the biggest live bands in the world“said Matthieu Pigasse.

Also scheduled for the big stage: the Belgian Stromae, “welcomed with each new albumin Belfort; the cult Australian crooner Nick Cave, last hosted at the Eurockéennes in 1996; British rock band Foals,real dancing machine», or even SCH, “the new pope” hip-hop in France, a genre abundantly represented this year in Belfort, detailed Kem Lalot.

The “Eurocks” will notably welcome Kaaris and Kalash Criminel as part of a “ephemeral collaboration”, he pointed out. Among the other artists announced, according to the programmer: French electro stars Bob Sinclar and Pedro Winter, who have planneda best of everything the French Touch has done best» ; metal with Suicidal Tendencies or Fever 333, American group “committed against white supremacy” ; about twenty female artists or the duo Black Pumas.

“Saturday evening, from midnight”the organizers also plan on the four stages of the festival “a big “party”” with eight artists, finally announced Kem Lalot.
