You absolutely don’t want to get vaccinated. But they do not want to be restricted in their freedom. So some opponents of vaccination resort to a risky means: They become infected with Corona on purpose. For example, the medical student Edgar (21). He doesn’t want a vaccination, but wants a recovered certificate. Because the expensive tests were not a solution for him in the long run.
And so he asked a friend who had been infected with Corona for help. “I asked this person to spit into a glass. I added some water to dilute and drank the glass, hoping from the bottom of my heart that I would get Covid. Five days later I was positive, ”he says in the SRF“ Tagesschau ”.
Corona-willing face up to five years imprisonment
Edgar is not alone in his strategy. There are even instructions on the Internet for those who are willing to Corona who want to become infected with the disease voluntarily. It doesn’t have to be a spit like the medical student does. To become infected, a cotton swab would be enough, for example, which you twist several times in the nose of a corona positive and then stick it yourself in your nose. “There are dozens of us who have done this in the last three weeks,” quoted the SRF “Tagesschau” from an article on the Internet. There would be a call for those interested to contact us.
Viciously infecting yourself with Corona can be dangerous. On the one hand, because it is unclear how the disease will progress, on the other hand, because patients can also suffer from Long-Covid. And not only that: if you intentionally become infected, you also run the risk of ending up behind bars. There is a risk of up to five years imprisonment. Because the transmission of a disease among people is a criminal offense, as Yvan Jeanneret, professor of criminal law at the University of Geneva, explains in the SRF “Tagesschau”.
Corona kiss parties in the Netherlands
The idea of deliberately catching Corona has been circulating on the Internet for a long time. In mid-November, a company made headlines in the Netherlands for selling a kind of kit for self-infection. Cost: 35 francs. After the information about the offer had been reported to the Dutch health authority IGJ, the provider’s website went offline.
The IGJ immediately issued a warning on this subject. “Infect on purpose – don’t do that!” Is the message of the statement. The head of the authority, Marina Eckenhausen, also added that the offer from the dubious side was frightening and outrageous.
In the Netherlands, reports have recently been circulating about alleged kissing parties among young people, in which the participants would consciously contract the virus in order to obtain antibodies without the vaccination. (jmh)
