For Yannick Jadot, Eric Zemmour is “the useful idiot of anti-Semitism”

The presidential candidate EELV returned on Monday to his remarks against Éric Zemmour. He had explained, Sunday, February 13 on Radio J, that the far-right candidate was the “Jew of anti-Semite services”.

Philip Roth and Saul Bellow, immense American writers, were insulted in the same way: “anti-Semitic Jew”, “fascist Jew”, Jew-and-something-behind to always send contradictory ideas and debates to the cellar, ostracize those who sometimes think differently. Far from comparing Roth and Bellow to Eric Zemmour on the intellectual level (and above all on the talent level), it is interesting to see that when a Jewish intellectual criticizes or discusses – including wrongly in the case of the candidate for the presidency of the Republic -, of his religion or rather of the history of his religion, he is relegated to this infamous word, this violent adjective, this filthy ideology: anti-Semitic.

“Zemmour has a difference with Jean-Marie Le Pen and it is perhaps the most perverse difference, it is that Zemmour is Jewish” – “so what?” asks Frédéric Haziza on Radio J, Sunday -, “and then he does the service Jew for the anti-Semites” replied the ecologist. On October 21, he also described the far-right candidate as a “small living room collaborator who thinks he is a great resistance fighter”, a term such as “service Jew” which can easily make one think of “service Arab”. , an expression widespread in certain spheres of the extreme left.

For Yannick Jadot, Zemmour “carries anti-Semitism, racism and revisionism”

Guest of the Grandes Gueules the next day – February 14 – to come back to the controversy, Yannick Jadot tried to justify himself by explaining that “Zemmour has been carrying anti-Semitism for years. He condemns Dreyfus, rehabilitates Pétain […] It constantly carries anti-Semitism, racism and revisionism. It has to stop. There is a liberation of this word. He also added that “Zemmour uses religion as an excuse for the extreme right which was only waiting for such a representative to say so”, and ended his development with a: “he is the useful idiot of anti-Semitism and it is extremely serious. »

Asked about the expression “Jew of service”, the first secretary of the PS Olivier Faure also estimated Monday on France info that “the expression is not very happy”: “I do not believe that it is necessary to qualify people by what they are, we don’t have to essentialize anyone”. President of the Republican Spring Amine El-Katmi tweeted: “I feel hurt deep inside when I am called a service Arab. I loathe Zemmour but I can’t bear to see him sent back to a status of + service Jew +. @yjadot, you are better than that. Remove this comment”.

“It’s shocking, it’s shameful this resurgence of anti-Semitism on the far left, and we must condemn these remarks”, denounced for his part the unfortunate finalist of the primary of the right Eric Ciotti on BFMTV.
