Ophélie Meunier will be at the helm of a new, unique issue of Zone Interdite magazine on Sunday March 24, 2024, from 9:05 p.m. on M6. Here is what the theme of the show will be this week.
Launched for the first time on M6 in 1993, the magazine Restricted zone has today become one of the most essential programs on the channel directed by Nicolas de Tavernost. Published alternately with the magazine Capital, the show will be back for a new new issue on Sunday March 24, 2024, from 9:05 p.m. on M6. As a reminder, several emblematic figures of the French audiovisual landscape have successively presented Zone Interdite over the years. Bernard de la Villardière, Anne-Sophie Lapix, Mélissa Theuriau, or even Wendy Bouchard have embodied this magazine, which has now been presented by Ophélie Meunier since 2016.
This week, the Zone Interdite teams were interested in disability. “It is a scandal, or rather a series of scandals, that this Zone Interdite investigation into disability care in France reveals. For more than a year, a team of journalists followed the daily struggle of people with disabilities and their loved ones, looking for a place in a specialized institute or school. An unbearable reality. Lack of reception structures, chronic understaffing, unqualified staff, recruited without a diploma: the system supposed to flourish the most vulnerable people and take them out of isolation neglects them, even violently“, indicated M6 in a press release.

“The numbers are chilling: 30,000 children and their families are left without solutions, reduced to living in isolation. There is a shortage of hundreds of thousands of caregivers in schools and 50,000 caregivers in specialized institutes. System failures which lead to numerous deviations: physical abuse, psychological pressure, medication errors. Those who denounce them come up against the inertia of institutions which prefer “no waves” to transparency. But the Zone Interdite investigation does not stop there. She also puts her finger on another scandal, this time financial, and which could splash even on the services of the State“, added the channel.
“Part of the aid intended for disabled people would be stolen from them. Sandrine is an angry mother. She is raising her son Arthur, 7 years old, alone, who suffers from a severe form of autism.. For years, she has been asking for a place in a specialized institute. Without success. The State services in charge of child guidance only offer him one solution: a few hours of schooling per week. An ordeal for the child as for all of his friends. Because schools, which today must be “inclusive”, that is to say, welcome all children regardless of their disability, do not really have the means to achieve their ambitions.
