After the forced kiss of the president of the Spanish federation of Fifa, Luis Rubiales, on Jennifer Hermoso, a player of the national team, the support fuses in the world of football. This is the case of FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez who sent a message to the Spanish footballer.

FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez supported Spanish player Jenni Hermoso on Saturday, forcibly kissed by the president of the Spanish football federation Luis Rubiales on Sunday after the World Cup final. “First of all, I give my unconditional support to Jenni and the players,” said the Catalan coach even before the start of his press conference on Saturday.

“Secondly, I condemn the behavior of the president of the federation, which I find unacceptable” he added about Luis Rubiales, provisionally suspended on Saturday by Fifa. Xavi said he was “sad that we are not talking about the World Cup victory, a historic event for our sport, and that we are talking about this intolerable behavior”.

“Totally inappropriate” acts

In a press release published on Friday, following statements by Luis Rubiales during the general assembly of the Spanish federation, where he refused to resign, FC Barcelona had denounced “totally inappropriate” and “unjustifiable” acts.

These actions, considered in Spanish law as acts of sexual assault, and the justifications of the boss of Spanish football, provoked a wave of international indignation, including many FC Barcelona players.
