Forest fire prevented – meter-high flames: hunting lodge destroyed by fire

Meter-high flames destroyed a small hunting lodge in a forest in Upper Carinthia on Tuesday evening.

The fire burned at the wooden hut northeast of the Reißkofelbad in Kirchbach for almost half an hour before a farmer noticed a fire from the opposite side of the valley around 8 p.m. and alerted the emergency services. “When we arrived on site, the hut was already fully ablaze,” says a firefighter. Forest fire was prevented. 100 men from a total of nine fire departments fought against the flames and were just able to prevent a forest fire: “The fire was quickly extinguished using heavy breathing apparatus,” says Floriani. However, the hunting lodge was completely destroyed. What caused the flaming inferno has not yet been clarified. The exact amount of damage is still unknown. However, no one was injured in the fire.
