An employee of a restaurant in the Ausserfern region heated up clarified butter in three large pans. When a supplier arrived and the man forgot the pans, the disaster took its course.
On Thursday around 11.50 a.m., a man (26) heated clarified butter in large pans in a kitchen of a restaurant in Grän. Since a supplier was arriving at the same time, he left the kitchen. A short time later he noticed that the clarified butter in the pans had caught fire and made the first attempts to extinguish it with another employee of the company (47). Two employees were transported outside in a service vehicle, whereby the 47-year-old suffered minor injuries to his right hand and forehead. The fire was finally extinguished by the firefighters of FFW Grän and Tannheim. There was no damage in the kitchen itself, the damage to the three pans amounts to a low, three-digit euro amount. In this fire, the FFW Grän was involved with three vehicles and 18 people and the FFW Tannheim with four vehicles and 28 people.
