Former adviser to Antoine Griezmann in police custody for sexual assault on minors

He is known to have been Antoine Griezmann’s former adviser. Eric Olhats (59) was arrested and placed in police custody at the Bayonne police station on Wednesday morning for acts of sexual assault on minors, according to Le Parisien and Actu Pays Basque.

A rape complaint against him was filed a few days ago. Reports for touching and sexual assault on minors have also been reported. These acts were allegedly committed in the 1990s and early 2000s when he was responsible for training young people at the Bayonne club. The alleged victims would be players of the Basque team, minors at the time of the facts.

Eric Olhats is particularly known in the world of football for having been an adviser to Antoine Griezmann. While he was a recruiter for Real Sociedad, he allowed the French striker, who failed several training centers in France, to be recruited by the Spanish club in 2005 and hosted him for six years. He then played a role in his first transfer to Atlético Madrid, of which he is currently a recruiter in France.

The collaboration between Eric Olhats and the 2018 world champion ended in the summer of 2017. The image management of Antoine Griezmann, who often expressed his gratitude to his former mentor, is believed to be behind the their separation. And the two men have definitely severed their ties after Eric Olhat’s refusal to attend the wedding of Griezmann and his companion.
