Former “Let’s Dance” star Ann-Kathrin Bendixen reports an accident in Vietnam. Travel companion Gabriel Kelly rushed to her aid.

The former “Let’s Dance” participant and influencer Ann-Kathrin Bendixen (24, “affe auf bike”) has In an Instagram post, she reported on a dramatic experience on her trip through Vietnam, during which her companion and “Let’s Dance” colleague Gabriel Kelly (23) became an important support for her.

“We drove along a Vietnamese road that became increasingly steep and dangerous,” she begins her report. “Night fell and we decided to sleep on the way for safety reasons.” But an approaching thunderstorm made it clear to the two of them “how dangerous this road would be if it also got wet. To continue driving in such conditions would have been suicidal. So we decided to pack up the tent and roll very slowly down the mountain at night.”

Gabriel Kelly drove her to the nearest hospital

All she can remember is “how I slid down the slope and then my leg was suddenly twisted between the handlebars and the scooter. I don’t think I’ve ever felt such pain.” Gabriel Kelly rushed to her aid as she kept screaming his name. “It felt like an eternity until he came and was able to free my leg from the scooter,” says Bendixen. After that, she can hardly remember anything because she kept falling unconscious. Gabriel Kelly tried in vain to call an ambulance or get help from the local residents. “He carried me to the scooter, put my arms under his armpits and drove me to the nearest hospital.”

An X-ray was taken in the hospital. The result: “My bones are fine. There’s something wrong with the ligaments. According to the locals, it will take a few months before I can walk properly again. Now I have to wait and get a second opinion in Germany.” The influencer is just grateful “that Gabriel was there and took such good care of me. I can’t even imagine how I would have been without him.” In the post, pictures and clips show Bendixen’s swollen knee and Kelly taking the scooter to the workshop after the accident.

In an Instagram story, the two report that the scooter is intact again after the repair and that Bendixen now has to put her leg up or move around on crutches. What the influencer cannot yet tell her fans is whether she on the “Let’s Dance” tour in autumn can be there. In a story she says: “I can’t say yet whether I’ll be able to dance in six weeks, I doubt it, but …”

In recent days, the influencer and the musician, who both danced in the 17th season of “Let’s Dance” at the beginning of the year and Kelly even won, had already several impressions their scooter trip through Vietnam with their followers on Instagram. They had already reported on “crazy roads” and “a thousand potholes”.
