Formula 1 in live stream and TV: This is how you can see all the races of the 2023 season

The 2022 Formula 1 season is over. Max Verstappen is world champion. Formula 1 fans are already looking forward to the new season, which is about to start Beginning of March 2023. The opening race will again be hosted by Bahrain.

Follow Formula 1 in Germany in live stream and TV

The 2023 Formula 1 season is expected to be broadcast in full on Sky. In recent years, Sky has been obliged to broadcast four races a year on free TV. RTL was always selected as a cooperation partner.

Now Sky has extended the media rights contract with Formula 1 until 2027. According to the new contract, Sky is no longer forced to broadcast races on free TV. There is still the possibility of further cooperation with RTL, but the chances of races on free TV have fallen.

Sky shows the races for its subscribers on the Sky Sport F1 channel, which you can also receive via Wow – the broadcaster’s streaming service.

For Formula 1 you need the sports subscription, which is available as an annual subscription from EUR 24.99 per month. If you want to cancel monthly, you pay 29.99 euros. You bring the image of Wow to the TV with a TV stick. Among others, Apple TV, Fire TV and Google Chromecast support the service.

Watch Formula 1 in Austria and Switzerland on free TV

In Switzerland and Austria, the races can still be seen on free TV. In Austria they run alternately on ORF Eins and on Servus TV. In Switzerland, the SRF shows the races.

All three channels also offer a free live stream on the net. However, this can only be received in Germany with a VPN. Otherwise, access will be blocked via country lock.

Does F1 TV also show the races?

F1 TV is a live TV app for smartphones. The app is available for both Android and iOS. It gives you access to all Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup races. It also offers a media library and many other extras. But a subscription is required for this. In this country, however, you cannot subscribe to the live TV service, you can only complete a statistics subscription.

Beware of free live streams on the internet

So far, you have been moving in a legal gray area by accessing Sky live streams made available free of charge on the Internet. You are now making yourself liable to prosecution if you watch such a stream. We therefore strongly advise against using it.

Sky now protects its live streams from pirates with a symbol in the lower left corner of the image. There is also a risk of catching malware on illegal streaming portals.
