Charles Leclerc sets the fastest time in the Ferrari in the Friday training sessions for the Australian GP ahead of the world champion in the Red Bull.
Ferrari was able to celebrate the fastest time of the day in the Friday training sessions in Melbourne. Charles Leclerc took first place in 1:17.277. The Monegasque was 0.381 seconds faster than world champion and championship leader Max Verstappen in the Red Bull. Third place went to Carlos Sainz, who was back in the Ferrari just two weeks after an appendix operation , the Italian racing team underlined its ambitions for the race on Sunday.

Guanyu Zhou ranked 11th
The two Sauber drivers showed a decent performance. China’s Guanyu Zhou came in 11th, 1.144 seconds behind. His Finnish teammate Valtteri Bottas lost 1.308 seconds to the best time and finished 14th.
Lewis Hamilton didn’t get up to speed at all. The British record world champion was 1.557 seconds behind and had to settle for 18th place. “We had one of the worst training sessions I’ve experienced in a long time,” explained Hamilton, crestfallen.
