(Boursier.com) — Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV), the first Egyptian automobile manufacturer specializing in commercial vehicles, has placed an order with Forsee Power to equip 19 electric buses with Forsee Zen Plus battery systems. This is the first German order for MCV.
The buses will operate on urban lines in Wuppertal (North Rhine-Westphalia) and 2 other cities in central Germany.
Forsee Power is the leading non-Chinese battery manufacturer in the bus market, having equipped more than 3,000 electric buses and working with a dozen bus manufacturers around the world. The Group offers a wide range of technologies to meet all operating modes – charging at the depot or fast, FCE – in different formats.
Leader in Africa and major player in Europe, MCV offers a wide range of buses – urban, interurban, standard and double-decker -, coaches as well as special trucks and vans. The two companies started their collaboration 1 year ago.
Zen Plus battery systems are available in 5 versions from 74 to 84 kWh. Made up of NMC VDA lithium-ion modules, the battery systems offer an excellent energy density of 180 Wh/kg enabling a very long lifespan of 5,000 cycles, providing a very competitive total cost of ownership for fleet operators. In addition to R100 Rev.3, Zen Plus complies with the most stringent industry standards including ISO 26262/ASIL C, ISO 12405, IEC 62660, IEC 6066 as well as R6. Eco-designed, Zen Plus can be used in second-life applications and is optimized for recycling.
