(Boursier.com) — Forsee Powera specialist in smart battery systems for sustainable electromobility, is joining forces with the Chinese cell manufacturer and world leader in new energy technologies CALB, for the acquisition of very high energy density cells that will be integrated into its batteries.
As Forsee Power strengthens its responsible sourcing strategy, CALB is the Group’s first supplier to go through its new in-depth due diligence process, incorporating a third-party audit.
Established in 2007, CALB (CALB Co., Ltd) is a world leader in new energy technologies. The Chinese industrialist – which entered the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2022 – plans to increase its production capacity to 500 GWh by 2025. It specializes in cells for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
CALB is Forsee Power’s first supplier to be audited by a third party. In December 2022, Bureau Veritas conducted an on-site ESG management audit of CALB, confirming a high level of social, environmental and governance practices. Particular attention has been paid to safety, traceability of materials and calculation of the carbon footprint of products. CALB is committed to sustainable development, with great capacities for ecological innovation, striving to reduce the carbon footprint of its products while improving their life cycle.
CALB, which provides NMC lithium-ion battery technologies integrated into Forsee Power’s high-energy battery systems, announced the construction of its European giga-factory in Portugal, presenting a European supply opportunity for Forsee Power at the coming.
