Fort Boyard: at what time of the year are the programs filmed?

A cult show launched in 1990, Fort Boyard continues to fascinate viewers and candidates. But besides, when do celebrities go to filming?

Since 1990, Fort Boyard has become an unmissable event for many viewers. But over the seasons, the show today presented by Olivier Minne has undergone some changes, including the absence of the tigers this year. Filming is also not the same in 2022 as it was 25 years ago. If the candidates initially slept in the lair of Father Fouras, this is no longer the case today. “This was the case a few years ago when they had to carry out night tests. Only the crane operator who directs the nacelle to enter the Fort sleeps on site. He ensures safety”, explained to us the executive producer of Fort Boyard in the columns of Télé Star. And if the show is broadcast in the summer, the filming is boxed in the spring.

Production opens Fort Boyard in March. At that time, the employees restore and put in place the tests and other cells, which are covered, protected and dismantled in winter. To do this, they work for about thirty days: “Shooting then takes place over two and a half weeks after a month and a half of preparation. This year, it was held from May 7 to 20”. And if the sets of the show can stay in place, it is because Fort Boyard has belonged to the Departmental Council of Charente-Maritime since 1989. “Adventure Line Productions rents it for the year and is the only one authorized to use it. No visits are possible. Outside of filming, there is no water or electricity!”, indicated the executive producer of Fort Boyard, Antoine Weber, in the columns of Télé Star.

Fort Boyard: which team this August 13?

“A wealthy Swiss had toyed with the idea of turning it into a hotel in the 1960s, but he was soon dissuaded. Jacques Antoine, the creator of the game, having noticed him in the film Le Aventuriers by Robert Enrico – with Alain Delon and Lino Ventura -, bought it in 1988, and immediately sold it to the Departmental Council of Charente-Maritime for a symbolic euro, in exchange for a lease for the filming”, he added. This Saturday, August 13, a new team is coming to challenge Father Fouras’ team. For this 7th episode of the season, it will be made up of comedian Jean-Luc Lemoine, sports commentator Yoann Riou, columnist Pierre-Antoine Damecour, actress Rebecca Hampton, and finally hosts Carinne Teyssandier and Karima Charni. Together, they will try to collect as many Boyards as possible for the association called Nourette.
