Fortnite patch 20.40 has just been implemented, already Epic Games is launching its teaser machine in view of the end of season event. A first video teaser has indeed appeared on all official Fortnite networks. It is strictly speaking an indistinct audio sequence, at the end of which we glimpse the helmet of Mecha, the titanic robot which had defeated the devourer Cattus, better known as “Monster”, in a singular duel.
First decodes
Several dataminers tried to decipher in detail what was said in the teaser audio. According to the French leaker Zatheothe recording reads: “Crew, at your stations”. This is typically the kind of formula Epic Games would use to build up the heat before a large-scale live event. Especially since the publisher has since developed techniques to involve the spectator in the event, by making him run, jump and even sometimes shoot enemies.
Mecha versus IO?
The intentions of the IO are still very vague. We know that DR. Slone wishes to rehabilitate the machine named Doomsday Device, but his exact plan remains unknown. This first teaser is however quite clear: Mecha should make a big comeback, very logically alongside the Seven (unless??).
Epic Games has not yet revealed the exact time at which the end of season event will be held, but the latter should logically take place between June 2 and 4. Never has an event teaser started so early before the start of a next season. The contrast is glaring with the previous season, since this one had offered no closing event or teaser of any kind!
