Most Fortnite fans today are eagerly awaiting the announcement of an upcoming World Cup, but in the meantime, it’s these good old FNCS that serve as competitive high mass each season. This year, the stages of this elite championship will take place in pairs. Not less than 11 French players participate in this grand final on PC, including Badsniper, DKS, Andilex, Podasai, Snayzy, Floki and Clement.
Final ranking
Dates and times
- First part of the final: Saturday May 28 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Second part of the final: Sunday May 29 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Twelve games are played over two days (6 then 6), and the points obtained are added together to determine the final ranking. This formula has already proven itself in multiple previous editions of FNCS. In particular, it allows teams to change strategy from one day to the next, or to refocus on certain game compartments (like for a half-time in traditional sport, for example).
Decisive step
This is THE great novelty of this year. Epic Games wants the duo that flies over the competition to be instantly rewarded with the title, to the point of ending it prematurely. This is the “decisive stage” system, which means that a team can end a Finals session earlier than the indicated time limit for the conclusion of the second session by fulfilling the following criteria in the cumulative classification of the Finals :
- Victory Royales: 3
- Points earned: 475
If more than one team reaches the tiebreak threshold in the same game, tiebreaks will be held. If no team reaches the tiebreak threshold before the end of the 12th game of the Finals, the event will end at the end of the designated Finals session window.
