Fortnite returns to iOS, but thanks to Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud

The year 2021 for the video game industry will have been marked by the lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple, with Fortnite at the center of the conflict (which then went much deeper than the game). Today, Fortnite has not yet returned to the App Store, but those who absolutely want to play it on their Apple smartphone will soon be able to do so thanks to Nvidia GeForce Now.

Epic Games goes through the cloud to find its way

Nvidia informs us today that Fortnite will integrate the GeForce Now program from next week, at least the time of a closed beta. The game will then be accessible via this service on Android and on Safari on iOS. It is already possible to register for this beta, which will determine the server needs to guarantee the best user experience during the real launch.

The situation is something to smile about, since it marks the return of the game to the Apple platform by bypassing the latter’s store, which was one of Epic Games’ objectives. It remains to be seen how this will all work out next week.

In addition, this week, new titles will arrive in the GeForce Now program, namely:

  • The Anacrusis (Steam and Epic Games Store)
  • Supraland Six Inches Under (Steam)
  • Galactic Civilizations 3 (Epic Games Store)
  • Ready or Not (Steam)
