Fortnite returns to LAN with $1M cash prize


Fortnite has just announced the return of in-person competitive events starting with the FNCS Invitational 2022 where players will compete for a million dollar prize pool.

The last massive Fortnite event held in person was the Fortnite World Cup Fortnite held in 2019. This competition was held in New York and offered the monumental prize pool of $30 million.

However, due to the severity of the global pandemic that occurred in 2020, IRL events have been put on hold to ensure player safety.

But today, Fortnite just announced the return of LAN events starting next November, with a $1 million cash prize to be given away at the FNCS Invitational 2022.

Fortnite returns to LAN this year for the FNCS

Just before the EU Champion Series finals which took place on May 29, Fortnite announced the return of LANS.

On the occasion of the FNCS Invitational 2022 which will take place on November 12 and 13 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, Epic Games has specified that this tournament will be by invitation and will take place in duos.

We’ll be picking the best FNCS duos from around the world to decide which ones will be invited to battle it out in single lobbies for a chance to win a portion of the $1 million prize up for grabs! We’ll be sharing more information about the FNCS Invitational 2022 in the coming months.

If the date and place are fixed for the moment, Epic Games specified that they were likely to be modified according to health trends. With player health and safety being a major concern for the event, Fortnite is proving to be prepared to reschedule or change plans if necessary.
