Fortnite: will it be necessary to slide like Mbappé to validate the World Cup challenges?

Always on the lookout to find extraordinary crossovers, Fortnite should very soon join forces with a major event: the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It’s been several weeks since the most influential dataminers on the planet have already unearthed files relating to a Fortnite x CDM crossover, but some very recent leaks are quite appetizing for fans of the Blues.

According Hypex, an upcoming challenge will ask us to slide on the knees after scoring. Reminds you of celebrating a famous player, doesn’t it?

The Mbappé-style slide

The number 10 of the France team indeed has a celebration of its own, which consists of crossing your arms and then sliding on the lawn. He sometimes performs this celebration standing up, but it is above all this gesture of sliding that will interest us. Hypex also makes the connection in his tweet.

As a reminder, the knee slide feature, added a year ago to Fortnite, allows you to slide after a sprint while shooting. And the gesture corresponds very well with the festive slip of some footballers!

Fortnite has already forged partnerships with Pelé, Neymar and Champions League clubs.

A collaboration still unclear

We still don’t know the contours of what this crossover between Fortnite and the 2022 World Cup could be. We can of course expect football challenges, and even a few team shirts to be found in stores. But we can also cross our fingers for something even bigger. Admit that Mbappé, Benzema, Ronaldo or Messi skins make you want to. Neymar has already had his, after all!

Highly anticipated by fans, Creative Mode 2.0 should be released later this year. Recent leaks have shown that the tool will happily use Unreal technology to multiply the possibilities of creators.
