The same story as with the 4070 Ti?
On January 5, NVIDIA had disappointed a lot of hopes by evoking a price of 799 dollars for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, because we knew then very well that it would not be respected.
Indeed, and without great surprise, the models of NVIDIA’s partners were generally displayed around 1,200 euros in the week following their release and, even today, it is very difficult to find models at less than 1 000 euros. Disillusioned, many players expressed their annoyance when the little sister was announced by NVIDIA, even if the American company had taken care not to announce any price yet.
$599: like the 3070 Ti in its day
To believe VideoCardzNVIDIA would therefore be counting on a price of 599 dollars for the reference model of the GeForce RTX 4070. Of course, it will be necessary to judge on parts at the time of the availability of the cards.
Still, on paper, things get really interesting. As we said earlier, the 4070 Ti had an indicative price of 799 dollars, and it was even about 899 dollars when NVIDIA was thinking of selling it as an RTX 4080 12 GB. The GeForce 4070 is therefore positioned 200 dollars below the price of her older sister.
Better, such a price brings us closer to those of the previous generation when the GeForce RTX 3070 was launched for 499 dollars, and the RTX 3070 Ti for… 599 dollars precisely. Since we are talking about the previous generation, it is worth mentioning that the RTX 4070 will have the same number of CUDA cores as the RTX 3070 (5,888).
On the other hand, it will have GDDR6X video memory at 21 Gbps, which will offer it a slightly higher bandwidth (504 GB/s against 448 GB/s) while its interface bus will be narrower (192 bits against 256 bits). . We are already looking forward to seeing the results.
