(Boursier.com) — Forvia unveils as a world first a carbon-free steel seat structure, produced without fossil fuels and with a very low CO2 footprint, reduced by almost 90% compared to a traditional steel seat structure. This achievement, the result of a collaboration with Nordic steel manufacturer SSAB, marks a major milestone in sustainable innovation. As part of the partnership initiated in 2021, FORVIA and SSAB are realizing their common vision of a sustainable industry through the production of a unique front seat structure. With this prototype, Forvia becomes the pioneer in the use of European green steel for its seats, whose series integration is planned for 2026.
This development represents an important step in the implementation of the group’s objective of reducing CO2 emissions in its supply chain (scope 3) by 45% in 2030, to achieve net zero CO2 emissions in all scopes. combined by 2045.
