Since the end of last year, players can ride in Mexico in Forza Horizon 5but Microsoft and Playground Games are not done with their racing game. After several seasons of content and events, studios are launching the first expansion this week, with Hot Wheels.
The small cars of Mattel therefore come to life here with additional content unlocking a new play area, with roads inspired by orange and blue pieces of plastic. There are a lot of new things to discover in this extension Hot Wheelsthe developers decided to take stock:
New biomes and new tracks
Hot Wheels Park offers many original and varied biomes, from the Canyon of the Giants to the Cauldron of Ice where the tundra melts in contact with the molten lava, passing by the Falls of the Forest which takes you above the canopy and from its impressive waterfalls, and the incredible Nexus Horizon, where the Festival Horizon is suspended in the middle of intertwining Hot Wheels tracks.
But we didn’t stop there. We’ve included 212 kilometers of Hot Wheels tracks, to make the experience unique. You’ll have to roll on icy tracks, slide on water, stay in control and even defy gravity on the futuristic magnetic tracks. In addition to the instantaneous speed boosts, the new air tracks will grant you a constant speed bonus, which will allow you to go progressively ever faster to reach impressive speeds.
What’s new ?
In addition to the new Hot Wheels Park map, located above the clouds of Mexico, you will be able to discover many new things. Let’s see what awaits you!
Become a Hot Wheels legend : You’ll need to prove you can handle the breakneck speed of Hot Wheels Park before you can unlock ever faster car classes. Hot Wheels Academy offers a new progression system divided into five tiers containing unique rewards, events and missions.
A New Horizon Story : Hot Wheels: A History of Speed offers five chapters, which you will unlock as you progress and which will tell you the story of Hot Wheels while letting you try your hand at the craziest stunts and challenges.
Ride with your friends and with the whole community : For the first time in the series, the entire expansion is playable from the start in co-op, which includes the Hot Wheels Expedition, which acts as a prologue.
Create your own Hot Wheels adventure in the Test Lab : The Hot Wheels Creation Kit lets you use over 80 parts that can be assembled together instantly. Blueprints created on the base map of Mexico with Hot Wheels elements can also be used by those who do not own the expansion.
Hone your talents : you will discover a new reticle, which is called G-Forza. This indicator changes dynamically depending on your vehicle’s rotation while driving and you will score points based on your car’s speed and angle. You can collect these points after a minimum distance or make sure to keep your combo by driving in an extreme, but clean way.
New accessibility options for Forza Horizon 5 : New options for the camera’s field of view will be available for the first time on console, exclusively when playing on Hot Wheels Park, including the Follow Camera or Far Follow Camera options. By default, these are calibrated to the maximum and you will not be able to activate them while driving in Mexico. PC players will be able to customize these settings and use the Pilot Camera, Dashboard Camera, Hood Camera and Bumper Camera options.
You can also change the motion blur on console, to set it to minimum, maximum, or deactivate it. A new Hot Wheels stunt assist option will help you pull away from the edges of the track when driving on particularly inclined or inverted surfaces.
Cars first : Finally, you can expect to drive 10 new cars in Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels. After completing the Hot Wheels Expedition, you’ll arrive at Hot Wheels Park behind the wheel of the first of them all: the 2013 Hot Wheels Baja Bone Shaker.
How to play ?
Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels is included in the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Expansion Bundle, Premium Edition, and Expansion Bundle. If you don’t own either of these packs, you can purchase the Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels expansion separately, for $19.99.
Players with the packs described above can begin their journey now by finding the Hot Wheels Expedition icon near Gran Caldera, north of the Mexico map. Once the expedition is complete, you will be able to access Hot Wheels Park via the pause menu or through fast travel. In Hot Wheels Park, fast travel is free and instantly accessible.
If you are new to Forza Horizon 5, you will first have to complete the first experience of the main game (the first 15 minutes of the title) before unlocking the Hot Wheels Park and then you can access it.
