fun, news, tips… what else?

This Saturday, June 25, an 8-year-old boy was found alive in the sewers in Germany. His family had not heard from him for eight days.

It’s a story that has a happy ending. A few days ago, this Saturday, June 25, a j8 year old boynamed Joehas been found in the sewers not far from his home in Oldenburg in Germany, local media reported. His relatives had declared his disappearance on June 17thr, since they had no news of him.

A particularly disturbing disappearance because the child has a mental disability. The Oldenburg police immediately used major means to try to find the child safe and sound. Calls for witnesses were shared, search parties were organized and it paid off. On June 25, in the early morning, around 6:20 a.m., a walker heard strange noises coming from a manhole located only a few meters from his house. He immediately alerted the emergency services, who once there opened the manhole and discovered the little boy alive, without major injury. “But he was clearly hypothermic”said the police spokesman.

Unanswered questions

Once found, little Joe was taken to hospital for examination and treatment. On the other hand, a few Gray areas still remain to be clarified. Indeed, in this case the investigators seek to know certain details: how did the child end up in the sewers? Did someone lock him there intentionally?

According to information from the television channel NDRfor the moment, two tracks would be considered by the police. One of them being that Joe could have entered the sewer system on his own through an accessible entrance and then got lost. The other track would be criminal. A person could very well have put Joe in the manhole and locked him up. The police are therefore continuing their investigation. It has also deployed several robots to search for clues in the underground sewer network. Little Joe could also be interviewed, for the first time, in the coming days.
