Four children narrowly rescued from appalling apartment

Disastrous living conditions. This Monday, May 23, police in Bexar County, Texas are intervened in a completely unsanitary apartment to get out four children. They lived in the house infested with trash and droppings. Their parents were arrested.

The police had been alerted beforehand because a pestilential odor emanated from the accommodation. County Sheriff Javier Salazar said when he visited the scene, the smell was so intense he thought dead bodies were inside. But the police finally landed in an apartment in a deplorable state, inside which mountains of waste, expired food or even excrement littered the floor. In the midst of this filth lived four children aged from 2 to 13 years old.

Rats and insects in the apartment

According to the American media, they nevertheless seemed in good health and were not visibly undernourished. However, the disastrous state of the accommodation exposed them to possible serious dangers. Many rats and insects thus lived in the apartment and rubbed shoulders with the children on a daily basis.

Their mother, aged 37, as well as her spouse, 33 and father of the two youngest, were arrested. They are in particular accused of endangering children. For their part, the police indicated that the children could be entrusted to a member of their family.
