USA: Israel ready for ceasefire

Israel has agreed to daily four-hour humanitarian pauses in the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the White House. These breaks would be announced three hours in advance, said National Security Council Communications Director John Kirby.
The breaks are a step in the right direction. In addition, the government in Washington has set the goal of no fewer than 150 trucks carrying relief supplies entering the Gaza Strip every day. Deliveries would have to be increased quickly, it was said. For weeks, the USA has also been calling for humanitarian ceasefires in the conflict that has been ongoing since October 7th.
