Four New Characters and Several Free Updates Coming to Melty Blood: Type Lumina

On the strength of a great success for a license that has been very confidential until now – nearly 300,000 copies sold in March – Melty Blood: Lumina-Type can now boast unprecedented popularity in the history of the license and will even appear on the program of the prestigious international tournament EVO 2022. And its developer, French Bread, intends to maintain this great momentum by bringing it frequent updates. We learn today that four new characters are on the way: two will appear during the summer, and two others during the winter, although their identities are still unknown.

French Bread also unveiled the program of the next updates that the game will host, without however delivering a precise roadmap. We know, for example, that a major rebalancing of the forces involved and of the various systems is under way. Various new features will also be deployed over the course of the month, such as the display of combo damage in combat, an improvement in online play, additional options for Training mode – such as the possibility of saving and changing a state – or a mode replay more enjoyable to practice.

Finally, French Bread will organize a major tournament on its title in the United States. Qualifiers will be held in three main zones – East, Central and West – online throughout the summer, and the finals will be played locally in December and will be broadcast live. Various awards and a cash prize have obviously been announced.
