Four years after the murder of the Muller couple, a 55-year-old man has just confessed to being behind their disappearance. This man is none other than the neighbor of Jean-Claude and Sylviane Muller.
In 2019, on the night of December 14 to 15, Jean-Claude Muller, 58 years old, and his wife Sylviane, 50 years old, were found dead at their home located in Izon, in Gironde., stabbed with several stab wounds. Despite a long investigation lasting several months, investigators were never able to solve this sordid assassination… until Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

This 55-year-old father who confessed is none other than the neighbor of the killed couple. This employee in a logistics company, according to our colleagues, initially denied the facts but finally decided to turn himself in after a few hours spent in police custody.

No one suspected then that this man with no history could have committed such horrible acts. “Until then unknown to the justice system, residing with his family in a residential area, having a stable professional activity, the accused had not been the target of any suspicion in the testimonies collected by the investigators, not even that of his own wife and his adult children” said public prosecutor Frédérique Porterie in a press release.
And if the gendarmes came to arrest this neighbor above all suspicion, this is particularly because they had several elements against them. In fact, the agents of the Bordeaux research section had a DNA trace of a man and the imprint of a shoe. After extensive analysis and thanks to their perseverance, they finally succeeded in presenting him with a fait accompli, which led to his confession. “We will finally be able to have answers, know what really happened and no longer ask ourselves a thousand questions about those around us. We will finally be able to smile” said the couple’s two daughters.
The suspect who faces life imprisonment but remains presumed innocent until the final verdict of his trial has not yet explained why he murdered his neighbors.
