The fourth beta of iOS 15.4 is in the starting blocks and brings some innovations with it. The biggest update, however, is likely to be the adaptation of the “Find My” app. Now that the AirTags have been criticized again and again, Apple has placed particular value in the current beta on eliminating some security concerns.

A few weeks ago, Apple published a current status report on the AirTags in a statement. The item trackers are still being criticized for being misused for stalking and theft. In a statement, Apple has already promised to make changes to the iPhone’s operating system to protect against misuse and to inform users of their correct use.
Exactly this update has been available in beta since February 22, 2022. In the now fourth preliminary version iOS 15.4, the manufacturer has mainly focused on the promised changes. For example, when you set up a new AirTag, you’ll get a notification that tells you how to use the gadgets.

More changes in the fourth beta
Even if such messages – think of the terms and conditions that everyone reads – are quickly clicked away, a message about criminal prosecution by Apple could have an impact. In the statement itself, Apple already reported on cooperation with the law enforcement authorities.
In addition, Apple has cleaned up other minor problems. For example, the AirPods led to an error for some users that identified them as an “unknown accessory”. This is said to have been fixed with the latest iOS 15.4 version. This also leads to more security with the AirTags, since all additional devices can now be identified properly in the Find My app and other AirTags can no longer secretly hide under them.

In the latest version, you can no longer make any changes to the “Security Alert” of the “Find My” app. Apple has now removed this option and replaced it with customization options for the app and notifications. So far, the new features only direct you to the notifications of the “Find My” app, but that could change.
Since this is a beta, you should only install it with care, because there may still be some bugs that can lead to problems on your iPhones.
