In the USA the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” caused astonishment. From April 5th they can also be seen in Germany.

The documentary “Framing Britney Spears”, which received a great deal of excitement in the USA, will soon also be available in Germany. From April 5, 2021, the revelatory documentary about the rise and drama of the mental health of the former pop sensation will be available to all streaming service subscribers via Amazon Prime Video. In the United States, the production of the “New York Times” was published in February of this year and once again fueled the “Free Britney” movement that has existed for over ten years.

It’s been more than 20 years since the US star turned into an international superstar – Spears’ debut album “… Baby One More Time” also landed at number one in the German charts in 1999. After several other hit albums, Spears was incapacitated in 2008 due to doubts about her mental health – the images of how she cuts herself bald went around the world. Her father, Jamie Spears, took over the guardianship of the now 39-year-old together with a lawyer to this day.

In the 75-minute long documentary by director Samantha Stark, archive recordings can be seen, old and current companions of the singer have their say. It also shows how different people have enriched their success throughout Spears’ career. Especially her father doesn’t get off well in the documentary. The goal of the “Free Britney” movement is that the star can lead a self-determined life again and freely dispose of his finances.
