PARIS, April 15 (Reuters) – The revaluation of the minimum wage on May 1 will amount to 2.65%, i.e. an increase of around 43 euros gross per month for a person working full time, in repercussion of the evolution of inflation in recent months, announced Friday the Ministry of Labor.
“Between November 2021 and March 2022, the benchmark consumer price index for the most modest households increased by 2.65%. In accordance with the law, the level of the minimum wage will increase by the same proportion, i.e. by 2 .65% on May 1,” the ministry said in a statement.
“With this increase, the gross hourly minimum wage will increase from 10.57 euros to 10.85 euros when the gross monthly minimum wage, for a full-time person, will increase from 1,603.12 euros to 1,645.58 euros”, is it also note.
The increase scheduled from next month corresponds to the automatic increase provided for by the legal formula, without any additional “boost”. (Written by Myriam Rivet, edited by Jean-Michel Bélot)
