The premises of France 3 Champagne-Ardennes were closed Tuesday morning after receiving an email threatening to attack the station based in Reims, the channel said, specifying that the email evoked a threat “to the glory of ‘Allah”. After receiving this email early Tuesday, employees were invited to remain teleworking, and the police were deployed to protect the building and the few people already there, said editor-in-chief Matthieu Mercier.

“All European states are vulnerable”

The station was able to reopen at midday, after verification by the authorities, indicated France 3. “The email mentioned an attack to the glory of Allah, without anything to say whether it was real or not, but in the current context, we took this seriously,” said Delphine Lenormand, communications manager for France 3. The Somme prefecture also evacuated a college and a school in Doullens in the Somme after a bomb threat, she indicated on X (formerly Twitter).

President Emmanuel Macron estimated Tuesday that “all European states are vulnerable” in the face of “Islamist terrorism”, the day after an attack which left two dead in Brussels and a few days after that of Arras, in France, which cost the life of a teacher.
