The regional television news of France 3 Limousin, France 3 Poitou-Charentes and France 3 Aquitaine merge for a period of one month to form the JT of France 3 Nouvelle Aquitaine. In question, the current epidemic wave and its numerous infections which paralyze the three local newsrooms.

If you live in the Limousin, you may have already noticed: the regional newscast of France 3 Limousin is no longer broadcast. This local news JT has been suspended, or more precisely shared with the television news of France 3 Poitou-Charentes and France 3 Aquitaine. Viewers in these three broadcast areas now have access to a common newscast, that of France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine. This merger follows the current epidemic wave and the many infections it has caused in newsrooms.

A merger that worries internally

According to the management, this reorganization is temporary and should last only one month. But, faced with this decision, the inter-union of the France 3 network was moved, deploring a “unilateral” decision. The trade unionists explain that no one in the editorial staff was consulted prior to this organizational change.

“This pooling is worrying in a pre-election context,” they add. The France 3 Limousin team is wondering about the future of their public interest function, as they are temporarily no longer covering local information for their viewers.
