France calls on Iran to stop the repression of demonstrations


PARIS, Sept 26 (Reuters) – France is calling on Iran to end its crackdown on anti-government protests in the country following the death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of morality police, the foreign minister said in a statement on Monday. a press release

“France calls on Iran to put an end to this brutal repression, to fully respect its international human rights commitments (…) and to guarantee the freedom of peaceful assembly and of association as well as the freedom of opinion and expression, in particular on the internet”, it was written.

Paris also condemns “all violence, arbitrary arrests and detentions against demonstrators, as well as flagrant violations of women’s rights and freedom of expression,” the statement said.
