FRANCE: ECONOMIC GROWTH WILL BE POSITIVE IN 2022, SAYS THE MAYOR
PARIS (Reuters) – Economic growth in France will be positive in 2022 even if growth forecasts will be revised in the context of the war in Ukraine and high inflation, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Sunday.
“We will have positive growth in 2022,” the minister said on Europe 1. “The French economy is showing resilience.”
While the government’s growth forecast for 2022 is still currently 4%, Bruno Le Maire indicated that this forecast will be revised “downward” as part of the amending finance law.
Bruno Le Maire said on Wednesday that the government would review its growth forecast for the French economy at the end of June – beginning of July, ruling out the risk of recession.
