LONDON (Reuters) – EDF and Crédit Agricole announced in a press release on Friday the signing of a green bilateral loan of one billion euros dedicated to financing the maintenance of the existing nuclear fleet in France.

“With this operation, EDF and Crédit Agricole sign the first transaction whose funds will be entirely dedicated to investments made for nuclear activity. This is a world first in the field of energy transition”, write the two groups. in their press release.

“The loan is part of the major industrial program of the Grand Carénage which aims to improve the safety and continue the operation of the reactors of the nuclear fleet beyond 40 years”, also explain the French energy company and the bank in this press release. .
