France Identity is a brand new service that allows you to take advantage of a dematerialized copy of your identity card on your smartphone. No more need to carry your plastic identity document. With France Identity, you benefit from a digital version that is totally admissible in the event of an identity check, or quite simply to collect a parcel from your preferred pick-up point.
France Identity doesn’t stop there and allows you to create proof of identity. These documents are time-stamped and have a limited duration of use to avoid identity theft and scams. They contain only the information necessary for your correspondent, such as your surname and first name as well as your date of birth, and guarantee better confidentiality of your personal data. Finally, you can take advantage of this application to connect to different administrative services with France Connect.

How to install France Identity?
To use France Identity, you must first hold a new identity card, in bank card format. These are equipped with an NFC chip, which contains your personal data, and the latter is essential to make the connection between the card and your smartphone. You must also have a smartphone equipped with an NFC reader.
France Identity is available on Android and iOS. Your smartphone must be equipped with Android, at least version 8, or an iPhone running iOS 16.
Then go to the Google Play Store or the App Store to download France Identity on your device. Once the app is installed, all you have to do is scan the front of your ID card with your phone’s camera (or fill in the last 6 digits of your card) and read the card’s NFC chip to establish the connection. Finally create a 6-digit code for authentication, and that’s it.
