The France Identity application allows you to save a copy of your CNI or your driving license, in particular, to prove your identity. But it is not without possible flaws and bugs. To avoid cyberattacks, the app launches its “bug bounty”, with up to €25,000 in rewards up for grabs.
Up to €25,000 reward for participants
France Identity calls on the hacker community to find vulnerabilities after the launch of the application on February 14. Rewards range from €100 to €25,000 for the biggest flaws. In the event of a significant bug, we are talking about at least €15,000. The teams collaborate with the YesWeHack platform to enable “ethical hackers” to be in contact with France Identity.

Among the possible flaws and bugs, registration on the application with a false CNI or any other document which has not been issued by the Ministry of the Interior. Another example, registration with a CNI different from that linked to the FranceConnect account.
France Identity wants to strengthen its security
The teams behind the application want to strengthen security in the face of concerns about data theft or identity theft. Nothing surprising when we know that the private information of half of French people has been stolen from mutual insurance companies, as the CNIL has taught us. The hackers had stolen sensitive elements such as members’ social security numbers.
