Registrations of new cars in France decreased in March by 1.47% at an annual rate, according to data communicated Monday by the Automobile Platform (PFA).

180,024 private vehicles were registered in France last month, the PFA reported. March had 21 working days this year, compared to 23 last year.

Over the first three months of the year, the market recorded an increase of 5.71% year-on-year, with 444,903 registrations.

Registrations of new cars from the Stellantis group, which includes the Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel brands, fell last month by 8.78% compared to a year earlier.

The Renault group (Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands) saw its registrations in France increase by 2.78% at an annual rate in March.
