France-New car registrations down 2.91% in May-PFA – 01/06/2024 at 01:57


Registrations of new cars in France fell by 2.91% in May at an annual rate, according to data communicated on Saturday by the Automobile Platform (PFA).

141,298 private vehicles were registered in France last month, reported the PFA. May had 19 working days this year, like last year.

Over the first five months of the year, the market recorded an increase of 4.90% year-on-year, with 733,178 registrations.

Registrations of new cars from the Stellantis group

STLA.MI, which includes the Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel brands, fell last month by 10.08% compared to a year earlier.

The Renault group (Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands)

RENA.PA saw its registrations in France fall by 4.73% year-on-year in May.
