Registrations of new cars in France increased in October by 21.92% at an annual rate, according to data communicated on Wednesday by the Automobile Platform (PFA).

152,383 private vehicles were registered in France last month, reported the PFA. October had 22 working days this year, compared to 21 last year.

Over the first ten months of the year, the market recorded an increase of 16.49% year-on-year, with 1,441,007 registrations.

Registrations of new cars from the Stellantis group, which includes the Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel brands, increased last month by 10.90% compared to a year earlier.

The Renault group (Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands) saw its registrations in France jump by 30.60% on an annual basis in October.
