France: State budget deficit down at the end of November

(CercleFinance.com) – The French state budget deficit contracted at the end of November, to 159.3 billion euros against 181 billion a year earlier in the same period, according to data published Monday by Bercy .

According to the Ministry of Public Accounts, general budget expenditure reached 397.9 billion euros, compared to 384.5 billion euros at the end of November 2021.

This change notably takes into account lower exceptional expenditure incurred by the government to respond to the health crisis and support the economy in 2022.

However, the exceptional measures to protect energy consumers represented an envelope of 4.5 billion euros through the exceptional fuel measure and 2.5 billion for public energy service expenditure.

Revenue from the general budget represented 302.7 billion euros at the end of November, against 265.2 billion a year earlier, mainly due to the increase in revenue net of corporate tax in connection with the resumption of economic activity.
