France: State financing requirement almost stable in 2023, at 305.5 billion euros


FRANKFURT (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The French government’s financing requirement will remain broadly unchanged in 2023 compared to this year, Agence France Trésor (AFT) announced on Monday, after the project was presented to the Council of Ministers. finance law for next year.

The State’s financing requirement will amount to a total of 305.5 billion euros in 2023, against a forecast of 306 billion euros this year, indicated the AFT.

The financing need for 2023 takes into account a budget deficit of 158.5 billion euros and amortization of medium and long-term debt of 156.5 billion euros, explained the AFT.

Next year, AFT plans to issue 270 billion euros of medium and long-term debt, net of buybacks, compared to 260 billion euros in 2022, she added.
